This course focuses on the immediate care and resuscitation of newborns. There is a required pre course knowledge test that the instructor will go over at the start of class but no other pre course work. This course is offered twice yearly by an instructor that flies in to teach for us. Post-resuscitation, pre-transportation stabilization and care for sick infants. STABLE (Sugar & Safe care, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, Emotional Support) June 16th and 17th Initial course 8am -5pm each day Initial courses are offered every other month and refresher courses are offered on the alternate months. Students are required to complete a pretest for this course. To be eligible to take the refresher course you must have a current, non-expired PALS card (meaning you have to have taken the American Heart Association PALS course within the past 2 years). This is an 8 hour class if you take a refresher or a 16 hour class if you take the initial. It is offered to nurses, paramedics, midlevel’s and physicians. This American Heart Association class is the advanced life support for Pediatric cardiac arrest victims. June 15th, 2023 Refresher course 8am -5pm To be eligible to take the refresher course you must have a current, non-expired ACLS card (meaning you have to have taken the American Heart Association ACLS course within the past 2 years). This American Heart Association class is the advanced life support for Adult cardiac arrest victims. Anyone can take this as it is valuable life skills. This class teaches the basics of resuscitation for Adults, Children and Infants and teaches the use of the AED and what to do when someone is choking, it also teaches bleeding control, splinting, allergic reactions and a number of other first aid topics. It is an 8-hour class and a 2-year certification. This American Heart Association class is the basic first aid and CPR class that is recommended for lay rescuers. REFRESHER COURSES: ** only for students that are current in their BLS certification and not expired ** July 13th, 2023 9am-noon (For ETT class – ETT students will have priority for spots in this class) If a student fails the refresher class they will be asked to enroll in an initial class at a later date. ![]() This class is more fast paced and meant for experienced providers. The Refresher classes are 2.5 hours and can be taken by anyone that feels confident in BLS and still has a current BLS card. The initial class is 4 hours and must be taken by anyone that is expired, have never taken it before, or just wants some extra practice time because they don’t use those skills often. This class teaches the basics of resuscitation for Adults, Children and Infants and teaches the use of the AED and what to do when someone is choking. ![]() It is a 4-hour class and a 2-year certification, so it needs to be repeated every 2 years. This American Heart Association class is the basic CPR class that is recommended for everyone but is required for employees that have direct patient care.
